This year – through the films “Avinu” by Meni Yaesh, “Medinat Hagamadim” by Yaniv Berman, and “Halumim” by Erez Mizrachi and Sahar Shavit – Cinema South Festival chose to present decisive voices, even if they are silent ones, constituting cinematic portraits of trauma and its consequences.

There are intimate ramifications in the lives of the protagonists of these films, and the socio-political ramifications connected to our “here and now” as a society. Prof. Avner Faingulernt and Efrat Korem will meet the films’ creators for a discussion on the possibility of cinema showing and giving expression to the deepest wound of all
