Gaza - Sderot Project
The online project, “Gaza-Sderot”, examines and accompanies the lives of men, women and children from Gaza and Sderot. People continue to work, love and dream under harsh living conditions, threatened by rockets and air attacks or nerve-wracking stillness. Producers Osnat Trabelsi and Arik Bernstein and Director Robb y Elmaliach will introduce the audience to the innovative and fascinating work process whereby Internet users have intimate, interactive, non-linear access to fragments of life on both sides of the border.

Cinematic Exegesis: Creation Anew
The “Cinematic Exegesis” project takes a new look at the story of the creation in a series of sessions that combine a film, a lecture and interpretative thought. Guest of the project will be Bambi Sheleg, editor of the “Eretz Acheret” magazine (in Hebrew- Other Country). Ms. Sheleg will discuss the role man was alloted in the labor of creation. Following the lecture, there will be  a screening of the film “Restless” (Amos Kollek, 2008), a film that interprets through cinema the point of encounter between man and his responsibility in the world. The film studies the conflict that takes place between man’s personal desires, which are based on selfish, survival driven motives, and his responsibility towards family, society and even country, which reality places before him.

Cinema and Identity
The purpose of the project “Who am I – Becoming Acquainted and Making Films” is to bring youths together who live in neighboring towns in the Negev, for a workshop in which they can get to know one another, work together and create short documentaries about individual identity and the complex life in the region. The films reveal to us the unique world of teenagers who are unafraid to share with us the intimate details and the hardships of joint and independent lives. Films that will be screened at the workshop include: Is Life Beautiful?; Sorry, I Can’t be a Father; Dream; Bessame – Smile. A discussion with the filmmakers will follow the screening.
In collaboration with the Jerusalem Cinematheque and the Gilo Center for Civil and Democratic Education, the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Video Dance
The video dance film genre brings together two artistic disciplines that are significantly worlds apart - cinema and dance. This encounter is not straightforward and requires a unique form to accommodate new content. The result is an artistic endeavor that is fresh and different. Video dance films that were created in 2009 in collaboration with the dancers of the Ga’aton Mateh Asher regional council will be debuted this year.
